As suggested by a number of contributors to NZACDITT google group.

An incredible site and heaps of thanks for www.teach-ict.com that contains beautiful lesson plans, activities and feedback triggers. Above all most of the stuff is free for teachers and educational institutions.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/ict/ has games that encourage them to learn as they play.

Another useful resources for Junior ICT - Newspapers in Education website. We have offered this to our school students  in previous years. Resources and teaching focus on writing skills, presentation and teacher workshops have been organized. We used it for Year 8 level but can be adapted for younger or slight older students. http://www.nieonline.co.nz/

suggested activities and making students more aware of issues and the use of the net. Suitable for junior and senior classes. http://www.thegrid.org.nz/ and there is http://www.netsafe.org.nz/.

And for purchasing things here is some interesting information about Noel Leeming. From Peter Billingham

"The important thing is to tell them it is for a school and that you come under the GSB (I think) agreement. They then put it through at the appropriate price.

There are 2 price levels schools can get, the school discount (which might work for private schools), that is I think cost plus 10% and GSB that is I think cost plus 5%, the same as their staff discount.

Noel Lemmings are very school friendly, they had a cost plus 10% day for staff (the normal discount is strictly school purposes only) and I got a Belkin surge protector down from $299 to $71. It is worth getting your executive officer to arrange one."
